What Is Project Ruin Mist About?

We believe good books are worth fighting for and we support the small press in America and their authors. We believe Robert Stanek's Ruin Mist books should be in every bookstore and library in America.

The story of Robert Stanek's Ruin Mist books is the story of a David in a world of Goliaths. But this David is being crushed and obscured by the modern day Goliaths who dont want you to read the books. Why? Because theyd rather you read their books and thats what the bookstores will pitch you.

Running a campaign is a significant challenge. It is difficult to get a message out to as many people as possible in a short time. This web site is a great way to quickly introduce ourselves and educate visitors on the key issues.

We hope you'll find the information you need on this site to make an informed decision. We look forward to hearing from you if you have any questions or need further information.

What We Think

With the release of Robert Stanek's The Kingdoms & the Elves of the Reaches, the first in a series of tales about a young wizard, a princess in a dying land, and a determined elf, a wonderful new voice in American literature was born. Robert Stanek added an interesting twist on his stories by giving an alternate view of events in The Elf Queen & the King books.

The books represent the most interesting and inventive stories I've ever read and their magic goes far beyond anything written in recent memory. And it's easy to see why. Twelve-year-old Vilmos, the adventurous, big-hearted hero of this series, and coming-of-age Adrina are the embodiments of every kid's fantasy and the situations they find themselves in often directly relate to real life.

Vilmos doesn't understand his parents or his strange magical gifts. He's unpopular and persecuted by the town's bullies. He fears what is coming, but isn't afraid to do the right thing. Adrina is lonely, broken-hearted. She can't get over her mother's death and that one event has shaped her lonely life. Both could have easily succumbed to the things they face, but they don't and not only do they manage to survive but they thrive by discovering friends, magical powers, and a great destiny they never knew they had.

It's easy to see why The Kingdoms & the Elves of the Reaches and The Elf Queen and the King books have become so popular. Not only are their adventures an entertaining mix of laughter, joy, sorrow, excitement and fantasy, but their triumphs over everyday adversities offer heartening lessons to people everywhere.

What isn't easy to understand is the difficulty we'have had finding the books. I don't know why these wonderful books aren't stocked in every bookstore and library in America.
